Calderwood Lodge, Newlands

Located in Newlands, Calderwood Lodge comprises 20 luxury apartments for sale by private housing developer CCG Homes.

Supported Main Contractor CCG (Scotland), Arc-Tech MU provided a turnkey multi-utilities package in the design, supply and installation of Gas, Water and Electrical Services.

The challenges posed by Calderwood Lodge were namely associated with the complexity and individuality of the existing building as well as the immediate locale of adjacent, private residences. After commencing works on-site in November 2021, Arc-Tech MU worked diligently with the contractor to proactively engage with the surrounding community whilst their in-house design expertise offered efficiencies in the installation of services upon formal construction completion in 2022.

Gas:

Design approval for new Gas mains and services
Liaise with GT and adopting IGT and carry out gas connection onto existing main
Supply and installation of 205m of gas mains pipework from connection location
Supply and installation of 20No gas services
Excavate, backfill and reinstate joint bay for Gas CSEP as well as offsite track to bring new gas mains into the site boundary

Electric:

Design approval for new Electric mains and services
Liaise with DNO and adopting IDNO and carry out LV electric connection onto existing main
Supply and installation of 277m of LV mains cabling
Supply and installation of 3No MSDB’s and 20No electrical services
Excavate, backfill and reinstate joint bay for Electric POC as well as offsite track to bring the new electric mains to the site boundary

Water:

Liaise with Scottish Water and carry out mains connection onto existing SW main
Supply and installation of 109m of mains water pipework
Supply and installation of 10No 25/32mm MDPE services
Excavate, backfill and reinstate joint bay for Water POC as well as offsite track to bring new water mains into the site boundary
