Former Drumoyne Primary School, Glasgow
The former Drumoyne Primary School, otherwise known as Cromdale Square, is a leading example of transformative regeneration in the southside of Glasgow
Located just off Shields Road in Govan, the former school site lay vacant for a number of years before being purchased by Linthouse Housing Association with the intent to deliver 49 homes for social rent.
Works commenced at the £10.2m development in 2020 and consisted of the retention of the main school building’s façade – as well as the conversion of the former janitor’s house – and the new build construction of family homes providing a mix of accommodation between 2 and 5 bedrooms.
The development is designed around a central green theme with a community garden supporting wider community integration among residents.
Arc-Tech MU supported Main Contractor CCG (Scotland) Ltd with the provision of a duel-fuel multi-utilities package that was delivered over a 49-week duration having commenced activities in March 2021. Our list of services includes:
Gas:
- Design approval for new Gas mains and services design
- Liaise with GT and adopting IGT and carry out gas connection onto existing main
- Supply and installation of 360m of 125/90/63mm Gas mains pipework
- Supply and installation of 42No 32mm single gas services
- Supply and installation of 7No gas services via external screwed steel gas riser to flatted block
- Excavate, backfill and reinstate joint bay for Gas CSEP
Electric:
- Design approval for new Electric mains and services design
- Liaise with DNO and adopting IDNO and carry out electric connection onto existing main
- Supply and installation of 475m of LV mains cabling from POC
- Supply and installation of 42No single electric services for the 42No houses
- Supply and installation of Distribution board and 7No internal electric services to serve flatted properties
- Excavate, backfill and reinstate joint bay for Electric POC as well as 115m of offsite track to bring the new electric mains to the site boundary
