Locharbriggs, Dumfries & Galloway

Locahrbriggs is an 89-home development that is presently under construction in Dumfries & Galloway.

Formerly a logistics yard, the prominent site, located just north of Dumfries town centre and adjacent to Catherniefiled Farm, is being led by Wheatley Homes South in partnership with CCG (Scotland).

The masterplan comprises a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom semi-detached houses, two and three-bedroom terraced homes, and two five-bedroom homes designed by Collective Architecture.

Private and communal green space will be provided throughout the development as well as the provision of 183 car parking spaces.

Arc-Tech MU will be supporting its delivery with a turnkey Multi-Utilities package. This includes:

Gas

Installation of 997m of 125/90/63mm Gas pipework
From the newly installed Gas mains, 89No Gas services will be installed to serve each property
Supply and installation of gas meter boxes

Water

Installation of 193m of 125/90/63mm HPPE/MDPE pipework
From the newly installed connection, 89No Water services will be installed to serve each property served by a new pump station
8No Test & Chlorination of the new water mains
Water diversion with 351m of 180mm BARRIER pipework

Electricity

SPEN packaged substation from 2No spare 300mm LV cables
New substation and from the point of connection, installation of 984m of LV mains cabling
89No Electric services will be installed to serve each property
Installation of 208m of LV 300mm 3c mains cabling
From the new substation, 2m of HV 300mm 3c mains cabling is to be installed
6no Street lighting control pillars

Offsite Civils

Excavation, backfill and reinstatement of approximately 351m of suitable Multi Utility track within the footpath are also required to bring the new diverted SW main from POD1 to POD2.

Works commenced on-site late-2022 and the first homes are set to be in habitation from summer-2024
