Located in Granton, North Edinburgh, Western Villages comprises a total of 444 one, two, and three-bedroom homes that are being led by Main Contractor CCG (Scotland) on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council.
The development is being created as part of the Granton Waterfront Regeneration Framework which is one of the largest of its kind under construction in the UK consisting of 3500 net zero homes over the next 10 years and playing a major part in the Council’s strategic housebuilding programme to deliver 20,000 homes by 2035.
To achieve net zero, the development utilises a combination of a bespoke-designed energy strategy and homes that emphasise enhanced fabric performance to minimise heat loss and emissions associated with regulated operational energy use. Entirely non-gas, the heating system consists of a cASHP system delivered via an on-site energy system with a sophisticated network of pipes connecting to the homes to enable heating and hot water services. Solar PV is also installed on the roof of each flatted block with any remaining carbon offset by various measures.
Arc-Tech MU have thus far supported an enabling works package that enabled construction to start in mid-2022 with all homes set to be complete within a 4-year duration. Our Service package includes:
