Woodend Farm, Falkirk
Woodend Farm is a £27m development under construction in Hallglen, Falkirk.
Located along the boundary of Callendar Park and once used for agricultural purposes, the former farmland is being transformed by Falkirk Council and CCG (Scotland) into a development of 111 homes for social rent comprising 99 one, two, three, and four-bedroom, two-storey houses and 12 one, two and three bedroom flats created within the former Woodend Farmhouse & Steading.
The existing Farmhouse and Steading will be sympathetically restored. Its prominence will be maintained as a focal point for the development occupying a prominent position at the highest point of the site whilst the masterplan will provide large areas of amenity space for use of residents and the wider community.
Arc-Tech MU is supporting its delivery with a design, supply, and install Multi-Utilities package. This includes:
Gas
- 100mm LP ductile iron main connection
- 1,152m of 125/90/63mm Gas pipework
- 111No Gas services shall be installed to serve each of the properties
- [Diversion] ES Pipelines Ltd will undertake the gas main diversion. This includes all site attendance, pipe material, excavations, trenching, backfilling, reinstatement works, testing and commissioning
Water
- 875m of 125/90/63mm HPPE/MDPE pipework shall be installed in suitable tracks to the site boundary and throughout the site
- 111No Water services shall be installed to serve each of the properties terminating at a boundary box
- 10No Test & Chlorination of the new water mains
Electrical
- Connection to existing HV mains cable as specified by SP Energy Network and install 2No new HV mains cables from the POC to a new substation
- 1,088m of LV mains cabling shall be installed in suitable tracks throughout the site
- 111No Electric services shall be installed to serve each of the properties
- 2no Street lighting control pillars (1-phase)
Civils
- Excavation, backfill and reinstatement of the connection bays for connections to the Gas, Water and Electricity mains which have been identified as being off-site
- Excavation, backfill and reinstatement of approximately 98m of suitable Multi Utility track within the carriageway and footpath
Works commenced at Woodend Farm in autumn 2022 and are set to be fully complete in 2024.
